Our joy
begins, where
we make others
smile.

Where to find:
Actually everywhere, but mostly at the reception desk or service!

Here since:
I have grown up here with my 3 sisters and therefore I am perfectly familiar with hotel life. Even back then I have loved the contact to our guests - and that has not changed…

My characteristics:
My happy smile from morning to night, seven days a week…

Your contact person for:
Cross-country skiing, skiing or hiking - I know the best routes and spots here in the Paznaun – just ask me and you'll get an insider tip or two!

Favourite spot in Winter:
Take your cross-country skis and start at the cross-country skiing run directly opposite our hotel… towards Galtür, past the deer park until you reach the chapel in the forest! Enjoy the magic winter wonderland, the fresh air, the total peace and pure nature…

Favourite spot in Summer:
Lake Wiegen – breathtaking panoramic views, peace and a beautiful landscape! If you start early in the morning, you'll usually have the lake all to yourself… on the way back you can taste a glass of fresh cow milk on the Verbellaalp…

Insider tip:
Have you ever tried a self-distilled schnapps? Don't miss out on that! Best after dinner – schnapps is said to stimulate digestion…

Motto:
Our joy begins, where we make others smile!

No challenges that
we cannot master  -
together we are
strong!

Where to find:
In the kitchen, on the tractor clearing the snow or at our farm… Once in a while you may find me in our bar at the staff's regular table…

Here since:
Since I've got to know my wife Sonja… In 1986, I started my career as a chef. After a few seasons in some of the region's best kitchens, I came back to the Verwall in 1993 as a chef with heart and soul.

My characteristics:
My kitchen outfit, my traditional „Fellclogs“ (= wooden shoes with fur) and my unmistakable burst of laugh, sometimes a little louder than you may be used to...

Your contact person for:
Culinary delights, schnapps distilling and farming. If you have questions about the preparation of meat or sauces or if you are curious about our farm, our animals, forest or wood - just ask!

Favourite spot in Winter:
To end a long day on the slopes in a lounger on the Videralp enjoying the sun… especially in springtime it is highly recommendable, because th sun shines longer and the temperatures climb up…

Favourite spot in Summer:
In summer I'm a big fan of the Culinary Way of St. James. The chefs' delicacies taste even better on top of the moutains! My favourite is the Heidelberger Hütte in Ischgl - be in for a surprise and enjoy this year's specialities...

Insider tip:
Try our farm products from the farmer's buffet or at the Paznaun Speciality evening in summer. Taste the difference…

Motto:
No challenges that we cannot master - together we are strong!

Take your time
for the things that
make you happy.

Where to find:
I'm usually out in nature somewhere with Bruno - behind the scenes I'm already realising my first projects, with lots more ideas in my head. I'm looking forward to being back home more often soon, chatting with you and realising even more...

Here since:
I grew up in the Verwall with my two siblings. The Verwall was extended and rebuilt in 1994, the year I was born - so I grew up with the Verwall, so to speak, and discovered my passion for tourism very early on...

My characteristics:
My long, brown hair…

Your contact person for:
Everything to do with enjoying yourself in Ischgl. If you need tips on where to stop for a bite to eat - whether on the piste or in the valley, then you've come to the right place!

Favourite spot in Winter:
Is the Piz Val Gronda - you simply have to see this unique view of the surrounding mountains! And then it's back again in deep snow or on the piste...

Favourite spot in Summer:
In summer, I love being at the "Berglisee" - its sky-blue colour and the beautiful natural surroundings never fail to inspire me...

Insider tip:
If you don't feel like skiing - then strap on your snowshoes and hike up to the Friedrichshafner Hütte! A real insider tip, because if you start early in the morning - you have the beautiful nature to yourself...

Motto:
Take your time for the things that make you happy.

It's up to you to see the beauty
of everyday things.

Where to find:
Unfortunately not too often anymore - as love has taken me to Pfunds (a place behind the mountain, but still almost 1h away by car). But if you spot a few cool reels and posts on Instagram, then that was probably me.

Here since:
I grew up in the Verwall with my siblings. I still appreciate the contact with guests from all over the world, even though I've now moved to a different industry.

My characteristics:
My easy-going, happy nature which infects everyone.

Your contact person for:
When it comes to news in Ischgl, I'm usually in the know. But even if you need tips on sporting activities in winter and summer, I'm always on hand with help and advice...

Favourite spot in Winter:
When I'm not at work, it could well be - that I'm out somewhere in the mountains on my touring skis, there are countless beautiful quiet spots away from the pistes.

Favourite spot in Summer:
My absolute insider tip is the Fimba Valley. In addition to the entertaining Walk of Lyrics, breathtaking suspension bridges and quiet spots such as Lake Pardatscher See, you can also climb high mountains at the very end near the Heidelberger Hütte.

Insider tip:
Experience the sunset from your room or our terrace... The wonderful mountain panorama is even more beautiful then!

Motto:
It's up to you to see the beauty of everyday things.

Nothing is
impossible!

Where to find:
Due to my maths and geography studies in Innsbruck, I'm not in the Verwall too often (except on Tuesdays - I hate to miss out on the fondue)

Here since:
I grew up with my two big sisters as the cock of the walk in the Verwall. To make sure I didn't want for anything, I was spoilt early on with the cooking skills here, which I still enjoy to this day.

My characteristics:
the fact that I usually have a plate of food in my hand

Your contact person for:
When it comes to leisure activities for the boys, I know where something is going on... Whether it's swimming, night tobogganing or skiing!

Favourite spot in Winter:
Night tobogganing in Ischgl is always a highlight. You can enjoy refreshments before or in between at the Alpenhaus or the Vider Alp - and then it's down the 7km piste into the valley (sometimes even in the dark as far as the Verwall)

Favourite spot in Summer:
The new outdoor pool at the Ischgl thermal spa - here I can enjoy the sun with my Getibua Bruno.

Insider tip:
The Pardorama restaurant serves the best Mohr im Hemd...

Motto:
Can't do - doesn't exist!

If you never try anything,
everything seems impossible

Where can I be found in the Verwall?
I still live in Landeck with my little family and we are usually here at the weekends. That's where we enjoy nature to the full, whatever the season

How long have I been in the Verwall?
Since I met Ramona in 2011, so quite a while now.

You recognise me:
My trail running or cross-country outfit

Where am I your contact?
When it comes to the really sporty activities - be it running, trail running, training or skating.

My favourite place in winter:
Definitely the cross-country ski trails in Ischgl and Galtür - extensive and snow-sure with breathtaking views of the three-thousand metre peaks of the Silvretta in the background.

My favourite place in summer:
When the hiking trails become my trail running routes - I'm already really excited about the new ultra trail in Paznaun, the PIUT - which will be available to discover in different formats from 2024.

My insider tip:
Be sure to try Verwall's vegetarian and vegan delicacies

My motto:
If you never try anything, everything seems impossible

Give every day the
chance to become
the most beautiful day
of your life.

Where to find:
You won't see much of me, because I am busy working in the background and support the team as much as I can!

Here since:
Since the ground, on which the hotel stands, has been passed on to me from my parents – which means a long time! The verwall has been among the first houses in Ischgl with rooms for rent...

My characteristics:
My white housecoat which I like to wear as much as I did years ago…

Your contact person for:
If you want to know something about our history – just ask! I am too happy to tell the one or the other tale or how Ischgl has developed from a small farm village to today's renowned skiing region…

Favourite spot in Winter:
I like best to take a walk with my grandchildren to the „Minigolf“. In winter, there are horses which we feed with bread…

Favourite spot in Summer:
My favourite spot is in the forests above Ischgl – the ideal place to look for mushrooms! The fresh ones taste best…

Insider tip:
End your day on the slopes with a carriage ride and explore Ischgl – the tour towards Mathon is perfect for enjoying the beautiful landscape…

Motto:
Give every day the chance to become the most beautiful day of your life!

The secret of happiness lies not in
possession but in giving.
Who makes others happy,
will be happy.

Where can I be found in the Verwall?
I'm actually always somewhere - when I'm not travelling to Landeck in my car. In the Verwall, I enjoy the quiet hours with my wife Agnes.

How long have I been in the Verwall?
Since I built the Verwall with my wife Agnes - half an eternity! I still remember those days well! While my wife cooked for the guests, I worked in the post office - when I got home, the office work was waiting for me - which I still enjoy doing today...

You'll recognise me by
my jumper and my shirt - that's my trademark...

Where am I your contact person?
If you would like to know anything about the history of the Verwall - just get in touch with me! I'll be happy to tell you one or two stories from the past and how Ischgl has developed from a small farming village to an award-winning ski resort...
